As an aside, he listed these on his college applications and it did not seem to hurt his admission to other schools.

What major?
What is study abroad ND?

Notre Dame PreCollege https://precollegeonline.nd.edu/
Rice University PreCollege https://precollege.rice.edu/

So what do you think? Are they worth it?

My son did a few programs for engineering. They got him out of the house living on his own for a few weeks, and exposed him to different schools. It was worth it for that reason vs. the prestige of the program itself.

My niece went to the one at Duke for 3 years and it didn't help her.

This program is: https://summer.georgetown.edu/programs/SHS04/summer-college/

But, kids take classes with current Georgetown students and the grading is tough.
