Academic accolades vs sports accolades

My kids are in high school and have been playing their sports since early elementary, most of our online social networks are involved in sports. I hope if anyone is annoyed by my posts about their sports they unfriend me, I’m always interested in anything positive other kids do and can’t imagine being annoyed that some distant acquaintance was happy that his kid swam fast last week.

Every mom loves having you as their friend 🫶 bet you have lost zero friends by being the momma hype house.

What are you posting - the honor roll certificate? Maybe if it was a cool science project or art or a picture of the kid receiving the award with the principal.

How about winning the state spelling bee?

DP but I think that is a moment where I would use my brag card.

People watch sports. That's why they are called spectator sports. Not sure why folk take issue with the social media share. Who cares? Pitting academic achievement against athletic achievement as if they are mutually exclusive is silly and petty.

I really hope if people are resentful that I’m proud of my kids’ sports achievements and am cheering on every friend’s kids, they just unfriend me. I hope OP’s is proud of his math competition kids and feels free to tell the world. Hopefully there is enough room for all of us to support our kids and if this is somehow annoying to you I definitely don’t want to be friends.
