The county has regulations prohibiting solicitation without being registered.

The guy doing this cannot do it if he is not registered.

I hate hate hate when salespeople are dropped off in a neighborhood and go door to door on foot. It's scary when I'm home alone.

Do they even make enough sales to make this worthwhile?? I guess so or companies would stop doing it.

We had someone knock on our door at 8:30pm the other night and we also have a No Soliciting sign. Even if the sign isn't at eye level any solicitor with a permit should know to look for a sign and skip houses that have them. We never answer, but I agree the knocking is annoying.

My son has friends who have done this selling pest control the last several summers after graduation high school. They go to the Chicago area and they make a LOT of money. They're Mormon so the first summer they did it was good preparation for their missions and then after their missions I imagine pest control is an easier sell than Mormonism. We know a couple of LDS families whose sons have done it.
