Ours uses Maia Learning with no access until the end of 11th grade.
It’s very helpful, but would have been much more so at the start of freshman year as the school’s counselors were very lackadaisical on course advisory. |
| The best resource is talking to parents of older kids from your HS who have been through the college process. Even better if they have a child at a school your child is interested in. We basically modeled DD’s course selection based on what older kids did who attended school she wanted to attend and maybe coincidental but it worked. |
| Ours has Overgrad. I don't find it all that helpful. |

California public high schools stopped using Naviance and instead use an equity based college portal. It was determined that data about admitted students, SAT, GPA, TO, etc. was fostering institutional racism.
CaliforniaColleges.edu smooths the path to college and career specifically for California students, with a particular focus on closing equity and opportunity gaps. https://www.californiacolleges.edu/#/ Addressing Inequities in College Preparatory Course-Taking https://edpolicyinca.org/publications/addressing-inequities-college-preparatory-course-taking |
| One of the HS counselors had their students use Naviance. The other two didn't. |
