Thinking of making an offer. Thoughts?

Why do realtors post listings like this on here? It’s ugly, a flip, on a busy road, and zoned to terrible schools. All things DCUM dislikes. Do they think posting to DCUM will help with a sale?

Ok, so I actually live in the next neighborhood over, so I'm not biased against the area or the schools. But I would never recommend this particular house, especially not at that price!

Annandale Rd isn't lovely, it's a busy street that gets terribly backed up in both directions during rush hour - it leads to Rte 50 in one direction and Gallows/495 the other direction, so it gets used as a major access road both ways. Turning onto it from a side street (or driveway) is horrendous. I would never live directly on Annandale Rd.

It's terribly overpriced compared to similarly sized houses nearby, and most of those aren't even directly on Annandale. There's one just up the street listed for $700k, and it's been on the market for months.

I am a big fan of the neighborhood - the houses are reasonably priced by DMV standards, good community feel, and it's convenient to the major commuter routes (50, 66, 495) while being tucked away enough to escape the freeway noise. If this house were listed at $600k, I'd say it could be a good starter house for a young couple until they have enough equity to upgrade to something off the main road.

But $900k+? No way. I secretly hope I'm wrong, because think of what that would mean for my own home value! But I just don't see it.

+1 Street view, no thanks. Front yard drive/parking and so many cars at the houses. Looks like a busy road too.

Maybe the realtor is trying to drive up the click rate on the house for some reason.

its hideous, overpriced and in a bad location

Realtors are not responsible for the work completed by the builder. Nor are they responsible for the price-that's on the seller too.
This actually shows how stupid you are.
