| I just returned from Italy where the cobblestones were no joke. It was also rainy so there was a slippery factor. I wore 2 different casual tennis shoes the entire time. |
| I love all the "I'm going to Europe, what should I wear" posts. Just use the shoes you'd wear at home, OP. |
I live in a city and do a significant amount of walking as part of my daily life. I didn't find Europe to present an any sort of shoe choice challenge whatsoever. Just choose a pair of shoes that are comfortable for you personally, that won't give you blisters or get trashed if they get wet. And make sure they are broken in before you board the plane. |
I don’t walk 5-10 miles a day in a sundress at home. |
Your norm is not the same for the OP. Most ladies who dont live in busy cities don’t have shoes for the kind of walking that miles and miles of walking on tours entails. It’s a valid question. |
My point is that you don't need special shoes. Just shoes that are comfortable and broken in for you and your feet and body. Perhaps the perfect walking shoe for your trip to Europe won't work for me if I have bunions or get blisters from the design. |

I can walk all day in my broken in boat shoes. I know not everyone finds them fashionable, but I find leather boat shoes always compliment a sundress.
You probably don’t have enough time to break them in before a summer trip, in any case. |
