Best bets for a $500 wardrobe make-over

I love this thread! I am also a recently graduate MFA student but am currently pregnant so I'm not planning a shopping tip anytime soon. But my pre-preg clothes are definitely grad student-y. I just gave a TON of stuff to my 11 yo niece who loved everything so that says something about what I was wearing before. . .jeans, khakis from A&F, band t-shirts, etc. I need some grown up clothes as soon as this baby comes out

9:12 gives great advice. I purchased quality, yet clearance suits and although they are all 3 or more years old, they work well.

That said, my tastes have now refined. I like natural quality suites and recently, Ann Taylor, my go-to store, has started sucking.

Any places for natural fabric suites that won't break the bank?
