| No need to be nasty. No wonder DCUM Forums get such a bad rap... Any parent who has a child in sports would certainly be interested in understanding allegations of disgraceful conduct by a coach, as posted on the internet. This thread popped up near the top of a google search. It was a very relevant response. Thanks! |
Was in the presence of the U11 Bethesda team today. The Coach was so obnoxious! I was embarrassed for his players out on the field. Wow I would never allow my son to be coached by his foul words that he said to those boys! But then again I learned that their parents were just as bad, VERY RUDE. Stay in maryland buddy, you knew this was a B bracket tournament you have a lot of nerve bringing an A team and whining about it. Hhhhmmm once a cheater always a cheater

OK, do tell. Details, please. What tournament? What did the coach say? What did the parents do? I would not want to associate with the types of people I've seen in this organization. I'm so glad my sons play for a club with great parents and coaches. I can't imagine choosing to put my kids or myself in the company of these types. |
Yea, well we all wonder why these athletes grow up to do horrendous things like double murder, rape, drugs, guns, and engage in all kinds of immoral behavior? Posters like a few above makes excuses for such "respected" coaches and the idiot parents support out of control outbursts. Its pathetic. My son plays LAX and I've seen some pretty outrageous behavior out there on the fields. I say GO AHEAD and support disrespect and dirty play. My kid will always be accountable for his behavior, no matter what, even if he is wronged, my kids are being taught to take a high road. These disrespectful brats will end up mopping floors. While mine will be the winners in the end. |
| I want to hear what the earlier pp saw from the coach/parents. I am instilling in my lax-playing sons ideals of sportsmanship and fair-play. My son's always congratulate the other team - win or lose - and know that this is a game. My boys play for a club that also reinforces these values. I would never let them play for Bethesda. |
| I love hearing about LAX parents -- they make us soccer parents seem so reasonable and chill. Carry on, LAXdaddies! |
LAX and hockey are just about the same thing. My son plays LAX and I'm afraid my DH is going to get arrested one day punching another parent-some of the parents are out of control, straight out encouraging their boy to hurt an opponent....as if boys need any encouragement in this department. I wish my boys liked tennis. |

I am shocked -- SHOCKED -- to learn that there is a nasty, hypercompetitive jerk coaching lacrosse in Bethesda.

I admire your attitude, and the values you are instilling in your children. Sadly, I doubt your theory of just deserts. These disrespectful brats will probably end up on Wall Street, where they'll make zillions before wrecking the economy in their generation. They'll propagate, and pass on their crappy values just like you pass on your good ones. And so it goes. |
Or they could end up one of my company's competitors who has been working an inside job with a IRS govie winning hundreds of millions in contracts without fair competition. We play by the rules and still make a ton of money and nobody is going to go to jail. This arrogant jack ass I speak of will probably die in prison. The house of cards is falling down around him. I'm sure the coward will probably off himself. Yes, some people get away with it, but when you get caught like Hernandez, Shilling, OJ, or many of the others, the consequences are devastating. Most horrible people I have encountered in my life, get exactly what they deserve in the end. They might still be able to cling to their money, but in some way their life comes crumbling down around them. |
| We can only hope. |
| Is this guy also the head coach at a coed independent school in MD? |
If you really care you would report it... bethesdalacrosseadmin@comcast.net |
| Huh? I'm lost. What happened on the sidelines? |
No |
