Is 47 too old for a man to start a family?

Sir date women your age.
Figure out the child part .. you got options.

It's not too late if you are wealthy. Many women aged 30 to 35 who want children view a single man in his forties with financial means as a great catch. Just find a way to subtly convey your economic status on dating sites. If you are not financially stable or already have kids, then they don't want you.

The vast majority dated younger after their divorces (early to mid-30’s) and had what we lovingly refer to as “trap babies”. So choose a childless 30-something woman to date and if you’re even remotely successful and financially secure you’re a really good target for those childless women of a certain age.

Fine, but he's a much better option than a divorced dad with kids, an ex-wife, child support and alimony. You guys are being too hard on him. He's got no baggage. That puts him ahead of 90% of the other forty-somethings.

Yes. Old men breeding have a much higher risk of having autistic kids and other maladies. Sorry...you missed the boat.

You can but keep in mind that 47 year old sperms and 37 year old eggs are unlikely to provide a complication free fertility process. If you are ready for an infertility battle and possibility of a child with special needs, its worth a shot.

Yes, it's too old. However, if you have reasonable standards based on your level of career success and physical attractiveness, you'll be able to find a willing late 30s woman to try to have kids with you.

I guess I should have started a family back around 2010 but I was really focused on my career. Now I realize my priorities were wrong.

What does this troll post have to do with starting a family.

What does that even mean? Impregnating someone desperate is easy. Dumping everything in the mom of the child is easy. Just being a Paycheck Provider is easy. Calling yourself a Father in name only whilst not growing into a real parent role is easy.

So yeah, that’s all easy Op. stake sure the lady raises the child and minds the homefront so you don’t have to. Keep things easy for yourself.

Corrected it for you: "to have AUTISTIC kids with"

48 yo dad of 3, here. Hard to say. I personally would not have it in me to have a baby at this age.

That said, if you've never had to go through it, maybe you're tank is full.

You'd obviously need a woman of child-bearing age, so we are talking someone 21-35, ideally.

If you're serious about it, maybe you should go the foreign bride route. I'm sure it works out for some.

Women above 35 can't bear children?

Not reliably. This whole situation is an absolute no unless he has a lot of money and good health. The wife will be taking care of him and a child and it’s completely reasonable that at 65 he never sees his child graduate high school.

Most likely they divorce as large age gap marriages are short lived.
