There will be synchronous classes from 7-8:30 PM Monday-Thursday during the session, for a total of 9 classes. There will also be a signficant number of asynchronous assignments that aren't difficult but may be time-consuming (the estimate is 30-40 hours over the course). All the information is here: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/extendedhours/summerschool/central-high-school-summer-school-program/ Another poster mentioned the online classes during the school year as another option. That's an evening class that meets online 7 times for 1.5 hours each time, again with a lot of asynchronous assignments in between. It's free, as opposed to the cost for the summer school option, and is offered in both the fall and the spring. At least, this is how it's been in the past - it's possible it might change (summer school used to be shorter and with a different schedule until this year). Info on that is here: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/onlinelearning/courses/health/ My kids have done both in the past, and one kid is finishing up with Health B this summer. Both options have an annoying amount of assignments that feel like busywork, but both my kids are happy to not "waste" an elective slot on taking health as a regular class during the year, even though it might have been a nice break in their schedule. |
