Has anyone ever actually ordered avocado toast in a restaurant?

+1 Its a good choice at First Watch

Your kids don't have any idea what a struggle meal is as those struggling aren't buying avocados.

Compared to what, a $10 plate of pancakes?

Yes. I love the version at Ted’s Bulletin with poached eggs on top. And I had a phenomenal version at a restaurant in Del Ray recently. Can’t recall the name of the place but it was a top 10 brunch experience. Yum.

You didn't raise your kids right. Hopefully it's not too late to course correct.

A friend of mine ordered it at first watch, it was quite large. Looked good.

Yes, all the time. Gen X.

Yes all the time. To the PP who mentioned seasoning - it’s not literally plain toast with a plain avocado on it. There is usually olive oil, salt, spices, maybe something like red onion or other vegetables, maybe an egg, etc

The toast is much thicker and pumpernickel. One side is hard and the other is softer thanks to avocado.

The very first time I had it was at a restaurant.

I was visiting my friend in the Chelsea neighborhood of NYC. I had the avocado toast. I was underwhelmed.

This was in 2016.
