Syracuse cutting majors

People can still take classes in many of the subjects.

They hardly had any students affected by this announcement.

Why would you have ever gone to Syracuse for an Italian major or ceramics major?

They also still have in-demand majors that kids want to take but are hard to get high-paying jobs in. Like Sports Management.

Also when schools drop marginal programs it can sometimes help other programs to strengthen their programs by collecting sufficient students.

More healthy universities should do this. It's good to revisit offerings and prune prudently.

Lots of schools are facing tough calls. Many are combining departments. It was bound to happen. It's not the 20th century anymore.
