Did my taxes using 2 different software with 2 results

To be clear, you're asking how much you can cheat before you get caught. I would say, it's not worth the hassle of an audit even if the chance is low (of course this depends on the $$$ at stake).


That's not what they asked though. The post is about getting different numbers in different software. What if it is a few dollars difference. A few hundred? Even if you entered all the same information. Do you go with the higher one so you don't get in trouble with the IRS?

It shouldn’t be at all. It should be super easy and not complicated. But here we are.
