Materials science/engineering programs?

MIT, but obviously that's out of reach for most people.

I worked in cutting edge research for biomaterials for years, but was not a materials science major. I was extremely passionate about organic chemistry & biology. I worked most of my research life in materials science labs and as a TA despite not being a materials science major.

There don’t really seem to be any undergrad programs for materials engineering, and DC’s current plan is to major in physics or chem, likely with a minor in the other (or double major). But are we missing some niche program we just don’t know about?

Remember that old saying, "let your fingers do the walking" in the yellow pages. Same for the internet. You are missing lots of programs google can find for you. Or College Board's Big Futures search feature.

It will likely be the most popular engineering field in a a few short years, due to the fact that the jobs are surging.

My spouse is a Mat Sci engineer and I'd definitely recommend a kid who is interested in chemistry look into it.

Seems like a field that could take off in the future
