This is an apple not pear. |

Maybe abandon your idea and wear an A line dress that skims your figure.
If your thighs rub together, wear some thin shorts under the dress like jockeys skimmies |
My top is smaller than my bottom. And my midsection is more flabby than big. I’m definitely a pear. I can’t fill out most L dresses despite my cup size because my back and shoulders are not big/broad. |
I do that a lot, but I don’t want to wear dresses all the time. |
| Maybe the Collette pants at anthro in a Cotten linen weight? Those are the best pants, super comfy and feel very light despite having a bit of substance to the fabric. |

I'm just going to say it. Wide leg pants can be attractive. Cropped/ankle pants are cute when straight cut. But wide leg CROPPED pants are hideous. They make the wearer look so dowdy and dumpy.
Either do a straight crop/ankle pant or a wide leg full length.

BTW size 12 and 5'9 is far from huge. Sounds pretty average to me. I bet you'd look amazing if you'd dress more confidently to highlight your strengths and not just to hide parts of your body (I get focusing on what is flattering for you, but from your original description I was imagining a much larger size) |
| I don’t understand the appeal of cropped pants. They make your legs appear shorter. Quince has some reasonably priced white linen wide leg pants. |
They may make my short legs look shorter, but I walk most everywhere and prefer cropped pants vs shorts when out & about in the humidity and heat. No capris though; they look stupid on me with my short legs. I'm 5'8" with an extra-long torso and short legs. |
| Just, don’t. |
| OP follow Wardrobe Oxygen on instagram. Some of her clothes are really out there, but others are exactly what you describe as wanting. She's shorter than you, but a similar body shape. |
OP said she is tall. Cropped pants look great on tall women. |
