Yes. FIFA regulation and foreign federations prioritize development of their own players in the academy system. The men’s college game is changing to make it more of a pathway to pro and we should also be prioritizing our own players. |
if they grandfather the 4 years to get a 5th...why would a college coach want a 17 year old freshman? Some of the 5th years will be 23 or 24. |
Agree. If that happens, and roster limits don’t change, commitments will slow and many 27s who have already verballed will probably have their offers pulled. Hopefully, there is some latitude given on roster limits, but you never know with the NCAA. |
that would only work in the short term. Eventually you want to chase the 17-19 yr olds. It would suck to have to significantly increase your recruiting to keep chasing player who can only play for 2 yrs. |
