Violet
Rosalie
Lily/Lillian/Lilliana
Eliana

If he likes names that are people he knows, what if you think through the people he knows who have names you like?

Look at the family tree. Pretty often there's a hidden gem.

Anonymous wrote:Bella - agree dog name
Camille - ill. I only like this if it ends in an A
Emmeline - bothers me. It’s even bothering spell check.
Eve - evil
Iris - I don’t like the way it rolls off the tongue. Very harsh
Marisa - bland
Naomi - are you from the midwest?
Sienna - I don’t hate it. right now at be least

Desiree - pole dancer
Janay - agree it’s spelled Janae. are you comfortable with Nae-Nae as a nickname
Jasmine - agree on Disney princess and very south Asian sounding. another pole dancer name for women who happen to not be south Asian
Kendra - your husband and these stripper names. this is literally the name of the stripper who had her own show on mtv
Kennedy - he threw me for a loop with this one, doesn’t fit his stripper name aesthetic so a little insight into what he was thinking here can lead you to better names

It's almost hard to comment because these names are SO all over the map. I like:

Camille, Eve, Marissa, Naomi, and Kendra

Me: Bella, Camille, Emmeline, Eve, Iris, Marissa, Naomi, Sienna

DH: Desiree, Janay, Jasmine, Kendra, Kennedy

Tell him those aren't the strippers' real names.

I love Naomi, but didn't use it because all I can think of is the movie Van Wilder: "Naomi is 'I Moan' spelled backwards."

These comments are throwing me for a loop. I’ve never thought of Kendra as a trashy name. Where is that association coming from?

Anyway, I like Eve and Naomi the most.

Kendra was one of the stars of Girls Next Door - the Playboy Bunny reality TV show. I've never met a Kendra in real life, so that's my only association. Other than that, the name itself feels a bit like Ernestine to me: "oh, so you really wanted to honor a man but had a daughter?"

It’s 2026…and nobody is naming their baby Melissa ;0)

But Elissa is beautiful name and has endured for generations…perhaps because it’s unique and beautiful without being weird or specific to any demographic.

Anyway, I think Elissa is a good blend of what the OP couple is going for.

I wouldnt use just Bella. Isabella is the full name, Bella is a dog’s name IMO. Isabella is also very common just FYI. It might bother you or might not.

I like the other names on your list though.
