Reasonably priced facial sunscreen?

+1 I’ve tried them all, including much more expensive lines. Nothing beats EltaMD.

Another vote for Elta MD, in particular the one designed for roseacea I think the spf is 46. I don’t have roseacea, but find the formulation of that one to be the most calm on my sensitive skin.

PSA that Dermstore often runs 20% off on Elta MD products.

Thanks for the tip!

Another fan of EltaMD! Costco now sells the tinted (and maybe untinted too?) in a two pack for ~$60.

I have been using Neutrogena’s facial sunscreen (70) for many years.

It is very effective and does not co$t an arm + a leg at best.

A downfall is that it may give your skin a whitish cast if you apply a lot.

I also like Neutrogena and eucerin.

NO! Not for people prone to breakouts! Read the OP.

I had tried good, and TJs, Elta, and every other "good for oily skin" sunscreens that are generally recommended, and hated them all. They all made me feel like i had rubbed crisco on my face. The anessa one feels invisible within 2 minutes of applying.

When i go to asia, this is a legit brand that is front and center of every midrange drug store and beauty store, so nothing shady about it. It's just that apparently the FDA has been stuck in pergatory and hasn't approved any new spf ingredients for 30 years so we're stuck with 1980s icky technology while the rest of the world moves forward.

Which one do you specifically use? Looks like there's about 6 options. Thanks!

Do you get the one with the green tint? Does it work? I'm thinking of switching to this, but for the longest time, I've used a tinted sunscreen in place of a foundation, so this would turn one step into two steps, and I need recs for a tinted moisturizer or lightweight foundation.

For the Elta MD folks, are you using the UV clear?

DP but for tinted sunscreen I use Lune+Aster CC Cream SPF 50. Never breaks me out and gives me a nice glow. I love that it takes away a step.

I do not, I use this one: https://www.dermstore.com/p/eltamd-uv-clear-broad-spectrum-spf46-48g/11370303/

My derm advised against using tinted sunscreens because people then do not apply enough, so I follow that advice (when I want to wear makeup, I use Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer over the Elta sunscreen).

Elta does make a tinted version of the sunscreen I use (vs the green one you mentioned I believe just counteracts redness, I don’t think it adds a tint), here it is: https://www.dermstore.com/p/eltamd-uv-clear-tinted-broad-spectrum-spf46/11370312/

Another vote for Laroche Posay. I have sensitive skin so I’m particular about what I use, and it’s great.

DP but UV Clear breaks me out. UV Sheer is better for my sensitive skin.

I use Live Tinted sun screen. It is tinted so there is no white cast. I also like La Roche Posay tinted.
