proximity to hospital ER

You’re just as likely to have a major health event when you’re out of the house OP. As others have said, Northern VA has lots of hospitals. Do you want your sleep constantly being interrupted by emergency sirens and helicopter landings?

As long as I'm 30 min from a hospital that could manage a stroke or MI, I'm good. I have no desire to live near a community hospital that has to ship me out for treatment and will likely make me lose my window for certain treatments.


Won't the EMTs take you to the community hospital if it's the closest?

As someone who has witnessed strokes in two different people, including this week, it's comforting to be within 10 minutes of a hospital, community or not.

I thought that was what OP was going to ask…is it crazy to live too close to a hospital because of sirens and traffic.
