Decline of Christianity in the U.S. Has Slowed, May Have Leveled Off

I am one. Protestantism just feels so weird to me (I was raised Methodist), I am a Christian and I want to honor God in community. I love the ritualism and somberness of Catholic worship. I’ve been attending Mass for most of this year and plan on converting when the next OCIA cycle begins.

I went to a Greek Orthodox service once and I left feeling so good. The chanting was so soothing, and the sermon was about the perils of social media on society and the focus on me...me...me instead of having God in the center. The overall message was to break out of the habit of thinking only of ourselves and our immediate families and slowing down to realize the impact our actions have on others. The priest told parents that they are accountabl for their kid's social media use and how toxic it is to be "influenced" by others. It was a very inspiring message and i wish I recorded it. The people there were very nice, no one tried to convert me.

lol you can learn that stuff anywhere. Lots of people already know those things. They learned them at school or they just knew them. They didn’t have to learn them at church.

I really think people are going to get back to the basics. The internet is dead and only useful for rage inducing fake news stories. Home and family are back. This is a good thing.
