Yes, next year’s 9th years will take it, but incoming 10th graders will never have access to it. They have different core curriculums.

So say incoming 9th graders have access to 12 APs and incoming 10th graders will have access to 5 no matter what they do and no matter at what level they’re at.

But then the school will advertise their 9th graders curriculum on school profile and not mention that 10th graders had access to half the classes.

If you are worried about the school profile, ask the counselors.

Can your kid take non-AP Calculus for STEM majors in senior year? Just not AP?

You could have them review the material here for a small fee just to access the materials (not to enroll for credit). Then take the AP test independently.

This is bizarre. If a kid took precalc in 9th at another high school, passed, then moved/got
into this school, they would insist he be put in in geometry or Alg II for 10th? That makes zero sense.

No, I wouldn’t send my kid to school that was unable/unwilling to put them in classes of an appropriate sequence

Magnet programs are optional, so there is no question of legality. You chose it.
