Are admitted student days helpful even if student is decided/committed?

It can work, but it's not a guarantee. My kid did meet one person at the admitted student day, but they were in different groups once they split into colleges and they probably haven't ever seen each other on campus. However, the orientation in the middle of the summer did help my kid meet a few people. It's more valuable b/c those kids have already committed.

OP, I would list the school so people can chime in with specific feedback--some admitted students days are better than others. You don't want to end up with your child less excited to attend after visiting.

We went to GMU’s, it was ver helpful. They had a good panel to answer general questions, then breakout sessions by intended major, also helpful.

We’re going to JMU’s and CNU’s next month. Those are the three DD is choosing from.

DD met her first year roommate at the admitted students events, so in terms of meeting people and finding roommates (if your kid doesn't already have one), it is helpful. It also really got my daughter excited for the school. And her school also had great parents programming, which got us excited.

My DC is anxious, so it definitely helped in terms of getting the lay of the land as well as confirming he had made the right choice (ED). Attending a class got him excited for the academics.
