Involuntary transfers: senior by county hire date or date of position in the school?

Talk to the union. It is hire date in the county, not the school.

I’ve always been told that it is time in the county. If it is not a done deal, you can also talk to your administration about it and ask them what their reasoning is.

I’m pretty sure that basing employment decisions on efforts to increase diversity is illegal after the US Supreme Court affirmative action decision. Employment decisions based on race are highly suspect now.

This is why not all involuntary transfers are “weak” teachers- a common misconception. In cases like this, it’s a strong teacher who is getting screwed. Sorry, OP.

Good morning. I appreciate your advice and kindness. I’m relieved to be able to share that I was not cut. I don’t know yet how it was settled, but my building rep said don’t worry and yesterday, my admin said I’m returning next year.
