How many clubs do you try out for?

If you don’t make it, you don’t have a team.

Some clubs make more teams in order to capture all the possible customers.

my daughter has never played travel before, so we've been signing her up for every one that fits our schedule. The first few were a little rough, because its hard to integrate with a team of players that have already been playing together at a higher level and with the new school year change. She's now starting to to really enjoy playing against/with other players and seeing the different coaching styles and fields. Definitely recommend going to as many as you can if you want to find the best fit, and for the experience if you don't know much about the clubs in the area. Another thing we've done is try spring/summer/winter break programs at different clubs.

I would say try out for as many good soccer clubs as you can. And then if you don’t get any of those but you’re still desperate try SYC

I think trying out for all of these sounds reasonable.

Anonymous wrote:ALL OF THEM!! No in all seriousness, this is not really a question another person can answer for you. It depends on the level of your player, their desire, your finances, your location, your current experience, and your threshold of pain (player and family) in time and money. Example: if your kid is a 3rd or 4th team player who just likes to play and they are having fun where they are (and bonus points if that is close to you) then don't even think about moving them. Example: if your kid is a top team player who needs to be pushed more or have better opportunities...then you should check out what else is on offer!

Additionally, if someone tells you that there is something wrong with trying out or attending IDs somewhere then beware...red flag. Go check it out if you want to and don't even think twice about it. You might fall in love or come to respect your current club more or realize they are all the same. Don't overthink it and do what is best for your family.
