At what point do you get rid of your “fat clothes”

I deeply regret getting rid of all my really nice pre-baby clothes. Screw you a-holes who told me to donate it all because either I would never lose the weight or it wouldn't be in style when I did lose the weight. ALL that stuff from 20 years ago is 100% in style right now.

Same. I gave my smaller pre-baby clothes away on Buy Nothing when we were moving. I wish I had some of my more beloved items now, I managed to lose the weight when my youngest was in PreK. I'm now giving away "fat clothes" that I don't love, but packing away the ones I think I'd wear again. I've swing between sizes multiple times from age 20-40 and no longer think my current size is permanent.

Instantly. I’m so happy they are big that I’m instantly donating everything that becomes too big to wear and buying inexpensive clothes to get by. I’m not worried about maybe someday gaining back and fitting into these! My closet has very few clothes for work that I constantly mix and match until they get too big and then they are gone. I’ve been doing this since I started and it’s wonderful.

DH is saving everything and always has, it’s awful. He’s bringing out old clothes that finally fit again. Learn from DH, they are not in style. He’s wearing sizes 3x too big on the weekend for comfort. Don’t do this either.

Eh, some people enjoy basking in regret and the could have/should have/would have of it all. Who holds on to things that you can’t use for two decades?

I kept a handful of things I really loved and I am thrilled that I can wear them again. I do kind of wish I'd kept more, but that said, I am selling all of my fat clothes on Postmark as soon as it is in season.

I've fluctuated from 135 to 170. I kept most of the clothes.

You mean my skinny clothes? I’m clearing those out this year and leaning into my fattie baddie era

I don’t think I can pinpoint one article of clothing that I LOVE.

Same! And it's a regular process.

Here's an unexpected perk:
I was wearing XL-XXL clothes, and because I try to look good at work, I pretty quickly bought clothes that fit my smaller size. Good Spanx workwear.
First XL, and then those got too loose, and I'm in L and even M for some things.
So the XL and L sizes barely got any wear and they're in great condition.
I sold them at a consignment shop!
So now I'm not afraid of buying smaller sizes along the way... I can always try to resell.

Not like previous clothes that I'd basically wear until they wear out.
