I Google people all the time. I also get Googled all the time. People find my LinkedIn, my address, and even my wedding announcement.

I know that some people find Googling invasive. I find that it's a good way to identify people who are still married, have gone through bad legal issues, changed their sex, etc. Also, when a person says "I'm a doctor," I like to know whether the person is a orthopedic surgeon or an acupuncturist or an astrologer. Same idea for people in "sales," "tech," "consulting," etc

Totally agree. If you have been talking to this man for a year, it would be bizarre if he had NOT looked up that kind of info by now.
How is he supposed to know that you are legit and not catfishing him?

So I did meet up with him so he knows I'm not a catfish and I know that he's not totally weird. Though he is weird in some ways and he is pressuring me for my address after the first date which is weird to me but maybe I'm old school. I would think that if a guy wants to know where you live he would ask to meet your family first. I don't know I feel like well see I'm very protective over my family and I live with family right now because I'm a caretaker for my mother assigned by her doctor so I am very protective of my family and giving a man that I met from the internet who's a little weird himself my address is off-putting to me but again maybe I'm old school. And yes a military guy here posted that he doesn't use his last name his real last name and some people don't even use their real names who work in the clear world so yes I do the same I don't use my real name I use a nickname and I'm worried that would piss him off because he like I said he's a little weird so I don't know I don't know what to do I know people can Google anyone they want and I've also Google with myself but I I'm not an easy person to look up because I don't post anything online and if I do it's under an alias or a nickname.
