I honestly don't think these statistics exist. DCU doesn't want to post statistics because that would be very bad for them and it would add a layer of transparency and accountability that they never want to accept. You'd have to piece together posts from IG like a previous poster said. Not worth it. It's a really good question to raise because these kids that are graduating now are coming from the online school mostly. Would be good to see how that's working for them compared to a regular MLS Next club and going to regular high school. Not by chance DCU is hiding these types of stats. That I can almost guarantee. |

What I can tell you FOR SURE is that most, if not all of them are not ready for Europe. They aren't good enough because they have been in a poor development environment for too long. Plain and simple. There is no second team at DCU where most college age kids at MLS academeis go to develop more pro skills and get game time. So that is a huge negative for them and a gap in the professional pathway at DCU that is a major disadvantage for the players. So basically what you have are kids trying to go to college, which is the same as the kids from Bethesda, Arlington, Alexandria etc etc. And if that is the ultimate end game, you don't need DCU for that. In fact, you will likely get a better education outside of DCUs system and be a more well rounded applicant for college entrance.
DCU gives you no real advantages. Just local perceived status. There is no real pro pathway. Name one player coming from the academy in the last three years to play significant first team minutes. Doesn't exist. Eventually you have to play and show what you can do. No badge can do that for you. You need development. DCU doesn't provide that. |
OP, this is a resource: https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/search/?query=&divisionId=1&genderId=m&graduationYear=2026&positionId=0&playerRating=&stateId=47&pageNo=0&area=commitments I did not want to share because the last time I shared information it was shouted down as an unreliable source. While not a conclusive list, it appears to not include the latest ODU commit, it appears accurate from the kids I know. DCU kids are going to: Virginia, Maryland, UMBC, American, Syracuse. Thanks for asking this question. While I won't knock getting into any college, all of my kids have those schools in their range without soccer. If my kid is not on a pro track I plan to use soccer as a means to level-up on the educational track. Shockingly, Armour has the most D1 commits from this list from the DMV with a kid attending Yale and Navy, two programs I rate highly. Two others kids from the area, one from Beach and one from BSC, left to other MLS academies and will land at Duke and Cornell. Those are moves that interest me so I am going to look into this more to help my kid. Again, thanks for asking the question and whether this data is accurate or not, I hope it helps. |
