| As a former CMI family, watching the decline of this school makes me both sad and frustrated. Sad, because most of the years we spent there our kids had wonderful PK and early elementary years with great teachers. Frustrated because we and many others could see the cracks in the management style and team, as well as its turn away from its stated mission. It seems like that turn is complete and it's hard to know what distinguishes CMI from the other fair-to-middling charters, and what makes it a better choice than the in-bounds school for many families. |
| So many people worked tirelessly to get that school on track only to be bumped out by leadership. Seems like they are perfectly content with what they've unintentionally created. |
| It seems the new leadership is trying to get the school back on track. I'm a parent of an elementary school student and I have appreciated the increased communication we have been receiving. The new leader has been present and listening to staff and families as she learns the community. We can see the shifts she's making to the culture through her messaging. We appreciate the safety of the school and push for outdoor time. My child brings home homework and going to school is not a fight each morning which is a win for us. Every family has to make a choice and for now we are staying at CMI. |
What shifts is she making? "not a fight" seems like rather a low bar. |
