There goes our spring break in Dubai

Fly half away around the world to go to the mall

Are you stupid? Lots of great resorts there.

Remnants of a missile hit terminal 3 at the Dubai airport today (Emirates terminal, so likely lots of international travelers). 1 confirmed killed already. They’ll try to keep people safe but there’s only so much they can do.

Came here wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and/of if y'all State Dept types have a view ... I think we'll give it a minute before we pull the trigger but we really would love to do this trip.

Former USG here with lots of first-hand knowledge and time in the area: cancel. Nothing about this scenario will sort itself out quickly or neatly. Dubai might be fine in a few weeks... or it might not. Why take the risk, especially you can have similar but slightly less absurd experience in Vegas.

Sorry to hear.
My parents are currently overseas and trying to figure out a way back to the states. They were supposed to fly into Dubai then head back to states.

This is the real issue. Dubai is a major hub. Iran has hit multiple airports in the Gulf. Can't fly over Russia either. Getting to Asia is going to become a lot trickier and more expensive.

FWIW, the airlines are likely to issue refunds or credits assuming travel remains unsafe. I am doubtful Emirates wants to risk becoming a target with planefuls of American and European tourists.

+1. America chose to escalate this conflict. Americans chose the President who is destabilizing the world.

Whining about your botched spring break plans is the height of narcissism.
