It's genetics pure and simple. We were a Waldorf family, we didn't own a TV (no screens) and spent a ton of time outdoors (no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing family). One kid got glasses in 3rd grade, the other in 2nd.

DD got glasses arc15:months. She was not watching any screens. She is a happy ivy graduate niw. Glasses were not any huge issue (maybe the expense ...).
