Do MAP/MCAP/etc help predict future SAT/ACT scores? How did your 1400/30+ kid score on earlier tests?

My dd used to score 98-99% on Map in beginning of elementary school. The math scores were slightly lower when she started map M. She ended up with 3 close scores with superscore being 1430, didn’t want to keep taking it. I believe she could have gotten higher if she took a prep class and tried one more time, but she didn’t. Some of this has to do with test anxiety.

But kids who perform middle or high could go either way with regards to the SAT. Lots of kids don't come into their own until later in high school and also the SAT is definitely a test that can be studied for. It's not an IQ test.

Do you know of kids who were middling performers early in who scored high on the SAT?

My son was middling in elementary but scored 1500 on single SAT attempt.
