| Mayor announced trash pickup resumed to normal yesterday. |
| OP I had luck by tweeting DC 311. That got their attention |
The mayor is a liar. |
And you are correct. But for everyone else, just take your trash out to the main street. The trucks are not doing so well with the alleys. |
Lucky for the trucks most alleys in my neighborhood are cleared and the warmer weather melted any ice. What’s their excuse now? |
In my neighborhood - I have a backhoe and bobcat moving snow from the main street. So unnecessary with streets like Western are not plowed to more than 1 lane. This is a smaller side street where cars are functioning fine - but the backhoe dragging the scooper is going to tear up the streets - so we can now pay to have them repaved. Who things this is a good idea? And ..... no we have not had trash pick up in 3 weeks. |
| I’m in NoVA where we pay privately for trash pick up. They did miss the first day after the major storm and we had the option of taking the bags ourselves to the dump. They came on schedule the following week. The key here is (a) private pick up and more important (b) the OPTION of other solutions. Never rely on government for anything. They are the weakest link. They get your money regardless - private companies risk loss of business and revenue if they don’t find solutions. |
