Ok SYC 2013 Dad. Have fun in the 4th bracket of Jeff Cup:
Top bracket: 1 GA, 7 ECNL
2nd: 5 ECNL, 1 GA, 1 Aspire
3rd: 4 ENCL, 4 GA
4th: 6 ECNL, 2 GA
Jeff Cup is run by an ECNL club. Obviously, they will take care of their buddies.

One would argue that winning your bracket at Jefferson Cup, no matter the bracket, is something any club would tout. Enjoy it cupcake.

On the west coast we have Surf Cup run by San Diego Surf. They definitely seed brackets in their and ECNL clubs favor.

You know what you're getting into before signing up if you're not in the inner circle.

Cool story.

I'm trying to figure out the motivations of the IMYS guy. He spends a lot of time gathering this data, but he gives it away and doesn't seem to be selling anything. Other than giving data as promotion of a particular league what other purpose does he gain by continuing? He has to be backed somehow by ECNL, right?

Why? Can you not believe the facts are the facts?

I'm sure peddles "recruiting services" trying to convince players that only he can get you into a top school.

I don’t think they do. I’ve never seen an advertisement.

I believe last year someone said that he was an ECNL coach. If this is the case he's just trying to protect his job. Which most likely is the worst ECNL team possible and has no chance at D1 players.

I saw the same thing that they were an ECNL coach, but I disagree with your second point. They just might be really invested in the recruiting process and highlighting facts that are relevant to them.

My experience is that top ECNL coaches tend to back their club before the league. My experience has also been that the worst ECNL coaches tend to be the ones with the full ECNL kit including headband and bumper sticker. I put IMYS guy in the 2nd category.

Fair assessment - I don't know who they are, but the data is still helpful even if cherry picked to the extreme.

Who is IMYS Guy?
Anonymous
I am Youth Soccer posting to various social platforms. Claims to be providing the "truth" about college admissions pathways for soccer players, but as you can see from this thread is controversial. Look up that term on FB/IG/Twitter and you will find more info.

You do prove a good point that the OP was being intentionally obtuse/limiting the audience with the IMYS acronym that almost no one will know.
