Small town Fourth of July parades near DC?

I’m not sure we’ll be able to make it back at that time this year and am wondering if there are any small towns that have great parades outside of DC, particularly in MD. Recommendations?

I recommend you please don’t do this. Please? Not now.

Our so-called “leaders” often speak about the United States as a "melting pot," built by immigrants from all over the world, but the country has not always been welcoming to newcomers, and is downright hostile to all the citizens-in-waiting in the U.S.

And while the Declaration of Independence declared "that all men are created equal," endowed with the right to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," the laws that followed did not apply to Black or Native Americans, nor women.

The 4th of July should not be a day of celebration; it should be a day of mourning.

Purcellville. Go roller skating or play pinball afterwards.

IDK, but for many, the “4th” is indeed a trauma-inducing point of stress. I remember hearing about this perspective some time ago on WAMU; let me see if I can find it

As someone who's not fan of the rah-rah patriotism bandwagon attitude, I get it. But holy crap, this "trauma-inducing point of stress" bullshit is so over the top.
