JLG was out front communicating with her constituents/all prospective voters way more than anything we heard from the Mayor. |
Exactly. And honestly even if it was true that she didn’t say much, Bowser is still very much in charge. |
Her tone makes me extremely wary of WTU as a whole. People with that kind of attitude tend to be very effective at shame, to the point that anyone with a diverging opinion stops speaking up all together. Besides the eval system, what changes do you think Janeese will bring for schools? |
A few things from Janeese Lewis George's website: -unifying responsibility for truancy to one agency (kids actually being in school is a start, and seems non-controversial to me) -expanded after school programming (I feel like it's been really difficult and uncertain under Bowser, but great when you can get a spot in a good program) -ensure sufficient school staffing including special education services (please!) and school-based mental health (I feel like it's always been a fight with Bowser to have school nurses and mental health professionals in each school) |
No it isn't. I worked in DC government and had 4 unions under me. Pain in the azz. Definitely not looking out for the kids. |
Pffft. I live in Ward 4 and we didn't hear a peep from her, and the roads were atrocious until about 36 hours ago. |
I live in Ward 4. So glad she came out because her constituency services suck. |
Janeese will do whatever the teachers union tells her to do. Good for teachers, bad for kids, as we saw during the pandemic. |
I also live in Ward 4 and she didn't do anything and was certainly not "out front communicating with her constituents". |
| JLG wanted to keep schools closed longer during Covid; go figure. |
Schools are a social service, not an education program. If you want educated workers, the business should educate them. |
1. Why would you think he would only focus on big business? 2. We need someone to focus on business given the reduction of taxes from commerical real estate and the loss of business in the city. Income taxes don't pay enough to keep this city going. The Mayor has done a terrible job. |
This. |
Ugh. Really? If she doesn’t admit she was wrong now, I assume she’s irredeemable. |
She isn't one to admit mistakes, even when she's extremely and totally wrong. She's the Trump of the far left. |
