Adopt a road means you do trash cleanup 3-5 times a year.

Separately, there is no law, ordinance, or rule in Fairfax County saying I need to clear any sidewalk. It simply is not my responsibility.

Further, that sidewalk is disconnected. Even if it were clear, one could not walk to any bus stop or even to the next street via that sidewalk.

Last, I have a heart condition that an ordinary observer is unlikely to discern. Doctor's instructions are to avoid all forms of heavy labor.

People need to relax about sidewalks.

Hard disagree. If you can't shovel it yourself, hire someone.

I’m assuming you took it upon yourself to shovel out your closest fire hydrant already, right?

Is “trash cleanup” shoveling snow?

Is snow trash?

When they pick up trash, do they just move it a few feet and leave it there?

If you don’t pick up trash, does it melt and disappear in warm weather?

These are all relevant questions OP should be asking herself.

Agree.

Outsource it if you are unable to do it yourself.

Sure can....Can we get a hashtag for those who can shovel their driveways but not the sidewalks on their property?

On my street maybe half of the neighbors cleared their sidewalk and that was mostly because of a person with a small snow blower. They were able to do 3/4th of one house's sidewalk and that house has multiple able bodied adults and at least one teen. They are far too above this. They have maybe 6 feet to shovel but won't . They suck.

Who is this crazy person who thinks they can force volunteers to shovel sidewalks? People are just insane now. This country is doomed. So many entitled azzhats looking for someone else to do their work.
