Pantyhose in February?

In my experience, pantyhose are quite a bit warmer than nothing on your legs. Have you ever tried wearing them in winter? Tights are okay but black is not going to go with all skirts and dresses, particularly for those for whom black is not a flattering color.

Also, not every woman is built to look good in pants; they are often ill-fitting and uncomfortable on women with much smaller waists than hips. I don't see socially banning pantyhose and forcing women into pants for warmth as progress.

Yes, always for formal occasions.

Anyone who scoffs and tells you it's an old-fashioned thing just doesn't understand that women around them wear very good quality hosiery that they cannot see...

This is the only exception to the hosiery rule. "If" you have nice legs, you can do what you want! If you don't, please be aware that there is quality fine denier hose out there that will make you look as if you have nice legs. Quality hose is expensive! You can also wear make-up/self-tanner on your legs.

Pantyhose makes me itch. I use a lotion with a sheen and wear a very long coat to ward off the cold outside. And yes I own the epitome of pantyhose, still itches.

Uh no. I never wear pantyhose. And I live in Canada where it gets much colder. Sheer hose does not add any warmth whatsoever. This is some bizarre old biddies tale.

I think some nice patterned tights wouldn't be out of place. Black tights also wouldn't be out of place.

DP. Any recommendations on high quality hosiery brands? I don’t have nice legs (typically wear pants) and am willing to invest.
