| my son attended the Dangerous Camp for two summers, and there is no religion incorporated at all. I’d say half the kids there weren’t even Catholic. It’s a great camp! |
| What does Dangerous camp do? It seems like there will be competition between teams, hostile or friendly? I think heights school is the only one offer camps like that for boys only in montgomery county, true or false? |

New poster. It looks like a fantastic camp. If we lived closer we would attend. We know boys who've attended and loved it.
We also have a few friends with kids who attend the school. The families we know are nothing at all like I see described on this board. Yes, some are catholic. Other than that, they are normal, friendly families. Both spouses work. The wives we know are strong, educated women. The academics at the school are stellar. Why is there so much hate spewed at the school? Are those constantly posting familiar with the school at all? Have you visited it? Have you looked at the syllabus? The kids written work products, etc.? |
There is a description of the camp activities on the website. It's a great camp, inspired by The Dangerous Book for Boys. Not sure what you mean by hostile competition-it would be activities such as capture the flag, where the activity itself necessitates some team components. |
| There don't seem to be any secular or even non-Opus Dei run Dangerous Camps for Boys in the US that I can find. |
so? if you have nothing of substance to add - why post. My son has enjoyed Heights Camps two years running - including Dangerous Camp and the Airsoft BN Camp. Great place for boys that enjoy climbing trees, walking in creeks. |
Ugh, get a life. You libs are so unhinged. To the OP, my son has participated in summer camps at The Heights, and they’re engaging and lots of fun. We aren’t OD, and no one has tried to convert him into the cult.🙄 |
Find something more productive to do with your time instead of trolling on Heights posts. You are gross, intolerant and ignorant. |
The Heights has nothing to do with Heritage |
Our DS went to the camp and had a marvelous time. He also attended four years. We are not Catholic. The only Opus Dei members are the head and one faculty member (at the time we were there). Opus Dei is not a cult - it’s a prelature of the Catholic Church. very fine families go there. Some move to the area just so their sons can attend. I enjoyed the other families and they were welcoming to us, even though we are not Catholic. For those so ignorant on the subject as those above and spew nonsense, please at least go read wiki on Opus Dei. There is no prosletizing. Not eveything is a Dan Brown book. |

Cult
https://www.cta-usa.org/perspectives/opus-dei-cult Founded by Franco supporter and Nazi sympathizer Members of Opus Dei are expected to have spiritual directors and are advised not to make any life decisions without permission from their spiritual advisor. Many of their practices are archaic and misogynistic such as having women (usually young women from underdeveloped countries seeking a better way of life) clean the men’s dorms after the men have gone to work and when they are not home. These women not only clean the facilities, but do the laundry as well as prepare, serve, and clean up the food. They often put in 14 hour days. This is where some of the allegations of human trafficking come from. the group has a goal to have a “symbiotic relationship with government and society as a whole.” Further investigations indicate that they have taken great efforts to influence and in some cases take over political organizations, especially in the US. Many of the authors of Project 2025 are Opus Dei members. we have 6 Catholic US Supreme Court Justices. (Imagine, for a moment, that it was 6 Methodist or Jewish or Muslim). 5 of the 6 are affiliated in some way or outright members of Opus Dei (membership is not public, though they are not supposed to lie if asked directly.) Leonard Leo, head of the Federalist Society that has advised the Republican Party on judges, is a member, as is Bill Barr, Steve Bannon and more. J.D. Vance was featured on the cover of their magazine when he became Catholic and his stated views are certainly in line with Opus Dei. |
| Their summer camps are engaging and tons of fun for boys. I highly recommend! |
Because it is run by Opus Dei It's a cult run camp. Go and and send your boys people what could possibly go wrong. Opus Dei is a horrifyingly stupid cult. |
