ECNL ID Sessions - current players not attending

Current players were evaluated throughout the season. They aren't going to see you at a session and make a decision.

Does anyone have a sense on the status of Sundays ID sessions and likelihood of actually happening with the current field conditions? Do they plow Long Bridge? What about Howison?

Is this a general ECNL post or Arlington only?

Either. I know Arlington and Union have Sunday sessions. I believe VDAs are Tuesday/Wednesday

VDA is postponing tryouts that were scheduled for Sunday.

Meant to add, haven’t yet heard anything from Union or Arlington about theirs.

VDA hasn’t announced the postponement, but they will.

I got an email from VDA yesterday with the new dates. It probably depends on age group.

I said this before and I will say it again. If your club does not want your player to tryout at the current club, then you take your player to tryout at all the clubs. Simple. Don't mess around with your player's soccer future. The local DMV clubs have loyalty to nobody but $ and winning to attract more customer$ They will drop your player in a heartbeat for a better player. Always remember that.

Arlington’s specifically says ID sessions are for players outside the club

You think every club that will take your player is good for your player?

We've left a club twice, and moved up a level both times. In each case we've gone back to watch the old teams and it's always clear we made the right decision for DC. It's not even necessarily purely greed/laziness that keeps a club from moving DC up, they may really have a strong roster or not need anyone in your kids position.

It's in their interest to keep you paying, and keep you waiting in case a spot does show up. It's not necessarily in your child's interest to do either.

Would you expect your current coach to let you know before tryouts if they were planning on moving your player down?

They mean the lower players, not the existing ECNL players. They don't let RL players who want to try and compete for a spot come.
