With all due respect DS 17 thinks he is a lot more well-known than he is

Right? My grandpa has more than 47 followers!

Hilarious. My DD is just a typical HS senior and has 1200 followers and she follows about the same. I think that is typical of kids these days.

I think they just follow each other without actually knowing who and why they are following.
But 47 followers is cute. OP, your son has a sense a humor.

This confuses me because he has 47 followers which I understand isn’t considered to be a ton. He just acts as though he is famous and even talks about how “tiring” it can be to be a “public figure”. I just .. what? I’m kind of just venting but how do I make him quit this immature, strange act he’s doing?

Lol. Thanks for the laugh

You two sound kind.

OP, your post is really making me laugh. Let your son enjoy his fantasy. He’ll grow out of it!

This actually sounds hilarious. Either he is pretty funny or is confident and overly optimistic. Either way, better than a kid who is a “real” influencer

Your child is joking around

Is he maybe joking and trying to be funny? My 14 year old DD just got IG a few days ago and has over 100 followers. I think your DS is making a self-deprecating joke of the whole thing.

OP here. lol. NOT a troll. I can send you the link to my son’s Instagram if you don’t believe me.

Okay post it here so we can see.

DP. Likely. And there are worse things he could believe. And is he actually delusional?

How is it possible to not know when your kid is joking about something like this?

Depends on the school. My kids' classes are 100 people total so if they were followed by 47,that would be half of the people in his class.

Laughing at these middle aged moms on their mommy forum flexing about how many followers their kids have

If hes joking mom can get in on it too and suggest he post things for his fandom

If he is serious, you can point out to him that my boring and unpopular middle-aged husband has a few thousand followers on insta for landscape photography.
