I want them hysterical, drivers in this area are terrible. Safer for everyone they stay off the roads. |
Eh. Everyone is so busy around here. It's an excuse to slow down. We got the basics but also a lot of fun items so we can enjoy the at-home time. |
lol |
I don't want to hunker in my house for a week. I can slow down and still go out to the grocery store a couple days after a storm. |
I went at 830am to Trader Joes, and they were turning people away because store was too full. I dont know of inventory. |
Shsssshhhhhh.... |
You realize some people only shop once a week on a typical week?? |
Why not? Are you okay? If you need help, call non emergency line or get national help. |
Which Tr Joe's was this? |
|
We have enough to make ends meet, for sure.
But I need the bread baking ingredients to bake the bread I bake when everyone is panic-buying the bread-baking ingredients. Because, you know, there's snow in the forecast. |
Yes. And the effing website won't take reports for residential streets until after the residential plowing is done. Go look. Our community association had to pull strings to get plowing for our area last January. It had been 3 days. Impassable streets. |

Just got back from the Bethesda Safeway. It wasn’t too bad. Slim pickings on the chicken, though they were restocking it. The milk fridge looked pretty bare and some fruits and veggies missing.
I only went because I do the grocery shopping once a week on Sat or Sun and I figured I wouldn’t be able to do it in the next two days. |
DP Most people have several weeks worth of well-above-survival-level food in their homes. It might not be ingredients for fresh baked banana bread, but it is nutritious and it is as exciting as the skills of the person preparing it. The people going to stores right now want ingredients for specific bread/lasagna/cookies/chili/etc... they don't need. But if this is how they want to spend their time -- emptying shelves of flour and toilet paper along with a mob of like-minded doomsday psychos -- they are welcome. It's their hobby. |
DP, but outside of DCUM, people actually leave their homes. |
