The high tomorrow is 2 degrees with low of -10. All area high schools are closed tomorrow, will have e-learning.
The good news is we only have crazy temps like this 1 or 2x per winter. So weather could be normal-cold when OP plans to go in February. Also, the lake by Northwestern is beautiful when it's cold enough for ice shelves - just don't walk on them. |

| DD just got into another Midwest school that is tops on her list and I’m purposely going in February instead of April so she can get a real sense of the weather as part of her decision. |

^ we did this when DD got into UConn EA sight unseen. Went in February. Liked it. It became her favorite (probably despite the snow, not because of it) and attended
