When I was 11 I overheard my (17 year old) brother telling someone he and his gf were having sex (for the first time) that night. He was supposed to be babysitting me. I purposely let some air out of a ball and the knocked on his door and told him I needed his help pumping it up. I thought I was “rescuing” him from sex because, at 11, it still seemed gross. I’ve never told him that!

I actually think this is a great question and I would like to know the answers. My kids are not at this age yet; I think it's good to know.

Times change in terms of supervision, family schedules, when kids are available, etc. etc. so I don't think the answers would be the same as a generation or two ago.

Odd this was just posted because I had a memory this morning of the first time I had sex, which was on our living room couch with my entire family upstairs in their bedrooms. How stupid I was!

My teen and I were having a random conversation and she showed me a picture from a big Halloween party She went to so I could see who someone was . For reference, my daughter has no filter. I asked where her best friend was because they had matching outfits. She said oh she and her boyfriend were hooking up in one of the bedrooms in the basement while the party was going on in the next room. So there’s a data point for you.
