Afraid to stop pumping because of the hormone crash. How was weaning for you?

Adding from above, it took me 2-3 months to wean from pumping with each kid but I was still nursing on demand at home.
Expect it to take 4-6 weeks minimum.

I weaned super slowly because I had read so many horror stories. Honestly, it was not bad for me at all.

Just decrease how long you pump each time. So if you pump 15 minutes, start doing 13 minutes. Then drop to 10 minutes. You can also start increasing time between pumps. Make a chance and give it 48 hours, then make another change and give it another 48 hours. If you feel full or uncomfortable, you can adjust. But you just want to start ramping down.

I had no issues!

Step down by giving DH a squirt in his coffee each morning.

Oh jeez that's hard

My mood improved when I got my period back so who knows. Your period can come back when you space out the pumping

Slowly reduce your pumping and your body will be ok. The hormone change will be gradual. I can only speak to my nursing/weaning experience- it was gradual and I did not feel any differently. Great job on caring for your baby! Best wishes to you.

I slowly weaned over 1-1.5 months (at around 4 months PP), but I was triple feeding, so my supply was already slowing down. I remember a hormone crash that felt like the baby blues again. It was tough but didn't last long. After that, it was like rain clouds cleared over my head and I was so happy I didn't have to pump anymore. As a bonus, I also quickly lost the last of the baby weight that my body was holding onto during nursing.
