This is correct. If you express your seriousness of buying a car, they’ll give you a price. Even better, tell them the out the door price you will pay. Don’t negotiate.


+1. Identify the dealerships with the exact vehicle you want. Email them the out the door price you are willing to pay. If one of them says yes, show up with your check book and buy the car. This is how we buy our cars. If you want financing or extra warranties, then you are going to have to discuss that with them.

We have done this. We usually order something that is not on the lot anyway and have to wait for it to be built/delivered.

I always drive and inspect my cars before I finalize the purchase. Yes, even the new cars.
