+1 it can be hormonal. My kid was fastidious about keeping their face clean, eating healthy, and they still had massive breakouts. Sarecycline helped, but after a few months, it came roaring back. DC is now on accutane. |

I have very oily hair and need to use a clarifying shampoo daily before bed to strip the oil out. Using CLN shampoo (Amazon) once a week helps reduce pimples at the edge of the hair line.
Not for daily use. At most twice a week. |
| Avoid extreme washing and harsh products. OTC Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid never worked with my kid. Even prescription treatments like topical creams made no difference except in my wallet. It was very expensive stuff not covered by insurance. I found out that we could only buy the formulary at pharmacy that doctor worked with, and was getting a kick back. Also we had no luck with antibiotics. Try to develop a good cleaning regime. Keep it up. If that does not work, consult a reputable dermatologist. Ask if Accutane is right for your kid. That was the only treatment that worked for DC. It’s been two years since the treatment and there’s no sign of acne coming back. |
| Our DC had bad acne. We tried pads etc but when we saw a regular dr. for something else and she firmly directed us to get DC to a dermatologist. Derm quickly had DC on low level antibiotics and they were life changing. See a Derm before permanent scaring arrives, please! |
| Just go see a dermatologist. Shaming a kid about hygiene and diet is counterproductive. You can’t scrub the acne away. |

Pimples don’t come from poor hygiene, or foods for that matter. |
This! My teen boy uses the original stridex pads most nights and it keeps pimples away. They are very effective. However, the deeper pimples can be harder to treat. Differen gel is very effective too- maybe more so on the difficult deep pimples. |

If they were the Neutrogena Pure Glow daily cleansing cushions they did discontinue those. I liked to take those on vacations years ago. Dove also made “cleansing pillows” like that that they discontinued as well. The only thing I’ve found similar is a cloth Olay makes called Deeply Purifying cleansing cloths.
For my kid’s acne the only thing that has really worked recently has been double cleansing with a regular face wash like the Cerave foaming cleanser and then following with the Panoxyl 10% cleanser and leaving on for 2 mins. Then moisturizer. Differin/Adapalene gel worked for about a year but then she started to have more breakouts than ever before. |

I love when dumb people are so confidently incorrect. |
If those foods affect the person’s hormone levels, they can absolutely get breakouts from what they eat. |
