40 units of botox (face) - cost?

I'm the PP who commented above about eventually getting a brow lift (I also had an upper bleph). Yes, Botox can help to some degree with hooded eyes by raising the brows slightly. The flip side is that you might not be able to Botox the forehead to get it smooth depending on how much you need to lift your brow to compensate for hooded eyes.

FWIW, my upper bleph was covered by insurance and now I get $280 worth of Botox twice per year instead of $360 worth of Botox 3 times per year.

Gosh you don’t want to know what I get then!

+1. I feel like age matters. I'm 54 and need 60 units for 11s, forehead and crows feet. Lasts me 5-6 months

+1. 54 and get 62 units in 11s, forehead, and around eyes, and 10 units in DAO

Yikes! You must frown quite a bit. I'm 55 and only need 32 units. No major lines/11s/crows feet. I do stay out of the sun and I don't drink.

What value does this add to the discussion?

If done by the right person and done well. It can also make them droop more. My Dermatologist told me never to just get 11s done and don't go to a medspa.

It made mine worse for sure. Plus I was just really uncomfortable with not being able to open my eyes all the way (that's what it felt like anyway).

I pay almost $20/unit, am I getting ripped off? This is with a cosmetic derm.

Any reccos in Tysons/Reston area?

Do you live in the DMV, and if so, what doctor did you use for the upper bleph? Any upper bleph tips?

I’m not sure who on page 1 thought it’s $10-$12 a unit still. That is a very 2019 pricing tier. More like $14-$17 depending on the toxin. Rarely do I leave under $700.

I get 35 units at a plastic surgery/med spa type place, done by the MD. It's $16 per unit but the place has a rewards program and coupons. I went last week and it came out to $14 per unit with those.

These prices are usually posted on websites

Are you all paying per unit? I go to a plastic surgeon who charges by the area. They say it’s about 20 units per area . Price per area goes down the more areas I get. I usually end up paying $12-$14 a unit when I do the math.

I used Dr Zatezalo. He is good but expensive. The upper bleph recovery was surprisingly not painful, but you do look like Frankenstein's monster for a week or two. If I were to do it again I would choose to recover for the first 3 days or so somewhere away from my husband and children.

I will need another upper bleph in about 15 years (both my dad and his sister had 2) and I don't think it will be a big deal.

I think you are crazy getting that poison injected into your faces. If you freeze your face muscles, your skin will sag. You should be exercising those facial muscles!

Botox is the only thing that removes my forehead wrinkles. My MD injector actually commented that my forehead skin is extremely tight, so something like a brow lift would not do anything for me... the issue is the underlying muscle.

I pay $10 at a plastic surgery office, they give most clients friends and family pricing. I’d never pay more than $12. I’m in my 30’s and get 40 units. It’s really not that much.
