Ok. 🤨 |
It doesn't appear as if you know much about business. |
Co-founder, with a Hamilton grad. |
Ok. |
JetBlue is a low cost carrier. PP is correct in describing it a budget airline. |
There’s a weird hc booster who feels the need to shove it down everyone’s throat. Half the time they lie about the alum and other times, they just make boldly wrong claims. |

Interesting article. I wonder about the "genuine engagement" aspect mentioned:
"The advantage comes from taking the liberal arts seriously: actively looking for intersections between concepts and ideas, wrestling with difficult texts, engaging in genuine intellectual debates, and seeking to understand how insights from history inform economics, how literature illuminates psychology, how philosophy sharpens business strategy." DH and I were surprised when our DD chose a SLAC, but the idea is growing on us. In the age of ChatGPT and other study shortcuts and digital distractions in classes, I'm curious to see whether the smaller seminar-style classes advertised result in more engagement. I know this isn't exclusive to SLAC's. |
| Of course, LA are taught everywhere--institutions large and small. The point is, college is not vocational school, as many students/families seem to treat it. A true liberal arts education, as the article points out, develops critical thinking and creative synthesis, which are cognitive skills needed across disciplines. |
| On East Coast, Babson does extremely well and Holy Cross does place well. Never many corporate exexcs from Bowdoin. Williams grads on Wall Street not many from Amherst. |
Completely wrong. Bowdoin, Williams, And Amherst do a lot better than Holy cross and babson is a joke for if you actually want a successful Wall Street career. |
That wasn't PP's point. Yes, it's a budget airline. The point is that being CEO of JetBlue is a big deal--doesn't matter that it's a budget airline. You're still CEO of a publicly traded company. |
Which would matter if they didnt finish their comment with an absolute lie. Bowdoin has a lot more high profile ceos than Holy cross alum. Makes sense- Bowdoin is a better school. |
| Babson is number 1 for entrepreneurship what is Bowdoin produce? |
A made up stat that doesn’t mean anything. How is babson better than Stanford at entrepreneurship for example- one of them created a majority of Silicon Valley, the other…has no footprint and barely any notable alumni. |
| President of CNBC, vice Chair of NASDAQ also HC grads. School does place well. Also chair of Docusign, former Vice Chair of GE also Holy Cross. Many more. |
