Olympic vs Yellowstone

Wow! Long trip! What did you do? What was exciting for different ages? I assume not backpacking (which we aren't going to try given the age of my youngest).


Sometimes we did things together - visiting the Mammoth area, which I wouldn't beleave was natural had I not seen it for myself. Really looks like a movie set or something. And sometimes we did things separately - our family of 4 did a horseback riding trip and an evening chuckwagon tour/dinner with an amazing guide that was awesome. Other areas I recall include the Morning Glory Pool and the bubbling mud (tweens kept dancing around laughing and screaming, double, bubble, toil and trouble)

^^ also one evening, we all drove away from the lodge, brought blankets and warm clothing, lay on the hood of the cars, and watched shooting stars. The kids lived this, the adults lived this, and they still talk about it.
