I’m the poster from above. Preston was the BEST. My kids are 24 and 20. We were probably in the waiting room at the same time.

Looks like he is still with Columbia. Abassi is also there. She’s very smart but can be rough around the edges.

Any idea why Columbia's SART data is so much worse than the rest? Do they take on more complicated cases?

Yes, they take older moms where other practices won't. Their admin staff is horrendous though so not recommended unless needed.

I think for OPs purposes just go where it's most convenient. Former patient of Columbia Fertility, Pinnacle (Dominion) and Shady Grove

Sart data is bs as clinics hand select cases and kick them out or say only donor eggs to help their data Yes- cfa will take many cases that sgf won't- for example no bmi limit. Have 2 kids thanks to sacks

I've been at this awhile and aged out of other clinics, but not CFA. I've gotten a euploid at an age where SGF would reject me and force me to use donor eggs. Heck, I got better results at CFA in my 40s with my retrievals than at SGF when I was 5 to 6 years younger.

Agree that the admin is terrible, but it has gotten A LOT better in the last two years. To the point where I prefer their billing over CCRM (shady as hell). The admin at all these clinics is pretty bad, but once you get in the swing of things and you figure out their weak points, when you need to be on them, and how to work with whatever clinic, it gets a lot easier. Plus they get to know you, know how to work with you, and a more likely to be helpful (provided you aren't a jerk!). It never got easier at CCRM with billing though. Their accounting and billing is a total blackbox (to their advantage!!!!)

Another lesbian who had success with Columbia and I much preferred it to Shady Grove. I unfortunately have to agree that the admin and finance side was crappy, but Dr. Sacks was great. They are more willing to work with cases Shady Grove turns away and adjust protocol in conversation with you.

+1. Dr. Sacks is the best doctor I've ever seen.

I'm a lesbian who went to Shady Grove and it was a good experience. Their shared risk IVF program is unique and really worked in my favor. They're definitely a high volume clinic but they were open all the time with convenient offices.

As far as queer competency they were very good. Gender neutral language etc. My patient record had a rainbow flag. But queer women are a nontrivial part of the patient population in this business so I think all the staff at every clinic have been through training.

Another vote for CCRM, especially Dr. Owen. She is LGBTQ friendly. I’m also in Alexandria and did not find the Vienna location too inconvenient.

CCRM for sure. DR Owen is amazing. And she and her wife have two kids, so that might be appealing too.
